Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is traditional massage that is applied with a light (relaxing) or a deep tissue technique.
Most people assume you need to be in pain or discomfort to have a massage. This is not the case at all. Relaxation massage is meant to be just that: used as a treatment for stress management or just as time spent for you, which is the best treatment of all.
Deep tissue techniques are generally designed for more focused massage therapy work. Working a specific joint, muscle or muscle group, the registered massage therapist can access deeper layers of the soft tissue. Starting superficially and easing into the depth of the muscle slowly often allows more movement. This is the recommended approach in this modality since each person experiences pressure differently.
Ashiatsu Massage
Ashiatsu is a type of massage therapy in which a massage therapist uses parallel bars mounted above the table to assist in balance and gravitational force, while massaging with their feet. This modality enables the therapist to have a flowing, compressive, broad and consistent stroke giving the sensation of having very large hands. Muscles and tissues receive deep pressure and stretch without the pain of “digging in”. This will minimize damage to healthy tissue which in turn minimizes soreness that tends to happen after a deep tissue massage. Instead you fell invigorated and rejuvenated while feeling relaxed at the same time.
Pregnancy Massage
Many women suffer from aches and pains, stiffness and tension during pregnancy. Gentle massage from a registered therapist can often help to relieve problems such as backache, sleeplessness, edema, headaches, and other minor complaints. Treatment is done sidelying with multiple pillows to ensure the utmost comfort.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle treatment approach that works with the natural self correcting mechanism of the body, and the Cranial Sacral System (the membranes and fluids which surround the brain and spinal cord). This treatment helps detect, and release restrictions in mobility, and enhance function. The rhythmic movement of the cranial sacral system can be palpated, and used to determine the core issues so treatment can focus on the cause rather than the symptoms.
